THOSE WHO EAT WITHOUT LANDING A HAND
Farming an old way of growing vegetation done by both man and women. With the way technology has taken our by storm, one would think that farming would not still be existing in our modern society. Funny how no one wants to work hard and farm but when the food garden is ready the ones who were lazy to farm are always the one going hard on the vegetation.
WORKING WITH FARMERS AND THE EXPERIENCE
Working with farmers was a rather challenging and also a very interesting experience for me. One of the farmers was Mr Maluleke who has a certificate in agriculture and is currently studying business administration in UNISA. When we first got to the farm Mr Maluleke showed us around and introduced us to some of the farmers that were present on the day and every one was really nice and welcoming. Based on the fact that i have done farming in my life, i found this to be very challenging for me because i am Johannesburg South and i have never been exposed to farming before. There were a lot of tasks that i struggled with, for example, i didn't know how deep the hole should be before you can you can actually start planting your seeds, of cause the farmers had experience so they could see that i needed some help and they were very helpful but still it was hard. Lets face it i'm lazy and having to work for long while bending and doing some cleaning on the farm, my back couldn't really take it.The experience wasn't all that bad all that bad because even though it was hard i got to have some fun and i also got to some farming skills of which i use because i now have a food garden which was started by me. I also got to learn the importance of farming and how it can be a source of income by selling the vegetation. Because of the experience, i am able now in a process of teaching my brother how to make a food garden so that he can start his own.
